Why use this product?
Ammonium sulphate is used in nutrient solutions to supply the plant nutrients nitrogen and sulphur. It is mainly used for plant types that thrive in low pH values. Ammonium sulphate has an acidifying effect on the soil solution when the plant and/or soil colloids take up ammonium ions and simultaneously release hydrogen ions.
Important! Do not mix ammonium sulphate with fertilisers containing calcium, as this will cause a precipitate of gypsum (calcium sulphate) to form. Do not apply ammonia-rich fertilisers immediately after liming, as the high pH value of the lime will cause ammonia volatilisation.
